Nitrous Oxide
At times, anaesthesia is required during a procedure to help patients relax, help relieve pain, induce sleepiness or forgetfulness, or to bring on unconsciousness.
Nitrous oxide (aka Laughing Gas) is a very safe and rapid type of sedation that is used at our dental offices.
This anaesthetic can be:
- Altered from one moment to another to allow the depth of sedation to be increased or decreased as needed
- Given for the exact time span required
- Used without the need of an escort -- once the gas supply is stopped, you need only wait 5 minutes before being able to safely drive home; and
- Used very effectively to eliminate or minimize sever gagging.
